Asteron Healthy Plus Option for Life Insurance

Asteron is seeking to re-affirm itself as a leader, particularly in the independent adviser market where it is targeting its Asteron Life! Program, and now its further engagement with healthy lives via the new Healthy Plus premium discount option, which is seen by advisers as a key differentiator in the market.

The introduction of a ‘Healthy Life’ concept which offers a 20% discount on premiums is in the forefront of the changes now offered by Asteron Life in their new Life Insurance product upgrade.

Formerly life insureds were judged either standard or non-standard based upon their Life Insurance application. This new category – Healthy Life - offered by Asteron takes ‘standard’ cases and pushes the boundary to find out how healthy the applicant is. You may become eligible for this new status if all of the following areas are approved:

You have not smoked for over 5 years;
Family history
Lifestyle and occupational hazards
Driving record
Medical history and diagnostics such as weight, body mass index, blood pressure and cholesterol
No exclusions or loadings are applicable to the current applications or any other inforce policies

Commencing at 20%, the discount will reduce by 1% each year to a plateau of 10% for the term of the policy. But eligible clients can re-apply for the full discount by being re-tested over time. If they continue to qualify for their ‘healthy’ status, the premium discount process re-sets at 20%.
